Giulia Ciofini

Community & Event Manager

Giulia Ciofini

Born and raised in Florence, Giulia moved to Venice at 19 to pursue her dream of studying Japanese language and culture at Ca’Foscari University, where she obtained her master’s degree in 2016.

After studying and working for a few years between Tokyo and Fukuoka – and taking advantage of Japanese life experiences beyond any cliché – she returned to Florence for a short period to dedicate herself to the promotion of Sake in Italy. However, her heart soon took her back to Venice, where, until moving to the USA, she designed and led tours in Veneto and Tuscany for a Japanese tour operator, happy to be able to make her favorite regions known through history, art, and food. In September 2019 she moved to Princeton, NJ with her husband. She currently lives in Philadelphia and manages marketing & communications for a well-known Japanese cultural institute, where she continues to foster connections between Japan and the United States and grow professionally in the field of social media marketing.

Giulia joined the IWUSA Team in July 2020, driven by the desire to meet other Italian women in the country and to share with them resources, information and experiences. After overseeing the Facebook group moderation for several years, today as Community & Event Manager she organizes monthly online events open to all members, with the fundamental support of professionals who are part of the Community itself.
